Black Forest Milkshake

This luscious creation blends rich chocolate ice cream, a hint of cherry jam, and velvety chocolate syrup into a smooth, frothy masterpiece. Topped with whipped cream, a fresh cherry, and a delightful Cherry Coconut Surprise, it’s a milkshake that doubles as a celebration.

Ingredients

CHOCOLATE SYRUP:

¼ cup Koko Black Cocoa Powder

¼ cup white sugar

¼ cup water

½ tsp vanilla extract

Pinch sea salt


MILKSHAKE:

500ml full fat milk

3 scoop (210g) good quality chocolate ice cream (we love our Koko Black Dark Chocolate Ice Cream)

3 Tbsp chocolate syrup (see above)

2 Tbsp cherry jam

Whipped cream, to serve

Fresh cherries, to serve

Koko Black Cherry Coconut Surprise, to serve

Method

To make the chocolate syrup, add all ingredients to a saucepan over low heat and bring to a simmer.

Simmer for 2 minutes, stirring, then add the vanilla and salt.

Remove from heat, pour into a glass container or jar and allow to cool before using.

 

To make the milkshake, add milk, ice-cream, syrup and jam to a blender, and blend on high until well combined and smooth.

Drizzle some of the remaining chocolate syrup down the inside of the glasses you wish to serve the milkshake in, or use a milk frother to spray the sides of the glass. Pour the milkshake in, careful to avoid the syrup on the sides of the glass.

Top with a spoonful of whipped cream, a piece of Cherry Surprise and top with a fresh cherry. 

Best served immediately.
