Chocolate Banana Bread

  • 60 minutes
  • 8-12 slices
  • Beginner

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Koko Black Cocoa Powder
  • 1 cup Koko Black Chocolate Dotties (Milk or 54% Dark!)
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method

1. Pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius, and line + grease a loaf pan of your choice, noting that the larger the pan, the less tall the bread will be.

2. In one bowl, whisk together flour, Koko Black Cocoa Powder, baking soda and salt.

3. In another bowl, combine mashed bananas, butter, coconut oil and stir until well combined. Crack in your egg, pour in brown sugar and vanilla extract. Stir well.

4. Combine your wet mix to your dry mix and mix in ¾ of your Koko Black Chocolate Dotties. Reserve some to sprinkle on top. Once well combined, pour this mix into your loaf tin. Sprinkle remaining Dotties on top.

5. Bake for approx. 45-50 minutes depending on the heat of your oven. Check the bread is baked by spearing the centre with a knife or skewer. If the skewer comes out clean, your banana bread is done!

6. Remove from oven and place on a wire rack. Allow it to cool for 10 minutes, before turning out and leaving it to completely cool before slicing and enjoying.
